Keyword Density Checker That Reveals How Often Each Term Appears
Check keyword density and frequency in your content. N-gram analysis, stuffing alerts, prominence scores, and optimization tips. Free online tool.
Keyword density tells you how often a word or phrase appears relative to the total word count on a page. If the density is too low, search engines may not associate your content with the target term. If it is too high, you risk a keyword stuffing penalty that can push your page down in rankings. This checker scans your text or any URL, counts every single-word through five-word phrase, calculates density percentages, flags over-optimized terms, and shows where each keyword appears in titles, meta tags, and headings. Paste content or enter a URL and get a complete density breakdown in seconds. No signup, no data stored, everything runs in your browser.
How to Check Keyword Density in Three Steps
Paste your content or enter a URL
Type or paste your text directly into the input area. Alternatively, switch to URL mode, enter any webpage address, and click Fetch to pull the content automatically. The tool strips HTML tags and extracts only the visible text for accurate density calculation.
Configure your analysis settings
Select which n-gram sizes to include from 1-word through 5-word phrases. Toggle stop word removal, word stemming, and minimum word length. You can also add custom stop words and track specific keywords you want to monitor.
Review the density results
The results table shows every keyword with its frequency count, density percentage, color-coded status indicator, and presence in strategic positions like title, meta description, and headings. Over-optimized keywords are flagged with warnings.
